— Christophe J

We offer massage, physiotherapy, pelvic physiotherapy, concussion management and gait analysis at TRP.

Remember - Runners should never be treated by a rehabilitation provider who isn’t a runner themselves. Our therapists are all runners and movement specialists. We understand the importance of prompt diagnosis and treatment, as well as the emotional battle that can occur when you can’t get your miles in. Don’t worry. You will get better. Let TRP help you lace up again as soon as possible.

Not a runner but still have pain? No problem – Our physiotherapists can help you with all problems, including neck and shoulder pain, headaches, osteoarthritis, low back pain, hip pain, and leg numbness/tingling. We also love treating post-operative rehab - such as ACL repairs, meniscal repairs, tendon repairs, and microfracture surgery.

CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT

A concussion is a brain injury caused by acceleration or deceleration of the brain within the skull following a significant impact to the head or elsewhere on the body. The impact causes a biochemical imbalance within the brain cells, resulting in decreased blood flow and temporary energy deficits within the brain. Symptoms may include loss of consciousness, headache, pressure in the head, neck pain, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, or balance problems, among others.

The Running Physio is now recognized by Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI) and joins a network of clinics around the world offering evidence-based concussion care. From baseline testing to concussion treatment and rehabilitation, our partnered CCMI practitioners collaborate with primary care physicians to co-manage concussions, helping patients and athletes safely Return to Learn, Work and Play.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage therapy is an extremely helpful tool in any runner’s toolbox - and if you’re not a runner, there’s still a whole list of benefits aside from the fact it just feels good. From increased blood circulation to release of feel-good hormones, massage is a perfect way to up your self-care and tissue recovery routine. Our RMT, Vicky, is a marathon runner herself, and so she knows what you mean when you say you want someone to “get in there!” Many soft tissue injuries like hamstring, hip flexor, quadriceps, or calf strains also benefit from a team approach of physio and massage therapy combined. And if you’re just looking to flush out those tissues after a hard week of training or a stressful day at the office, that works too. Vicky is a Registered Massage Therapist and her services can be reimbursed through most health insurance programs.
